A Haiku that Every Cat Must Read!

Today I read a poem that was written by another cat. This cat is like the Maya Angelou of cats. He wrote things that have been on my mind. It's like he's reading my mind. Here it is:

cat haiku

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail!
Behold, elevator butt.

The rule for today:
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
New rule tomorrow.

In deep sleep hear sound
cat vomit hairball somewhere
will find in morning.

Grace personified.
I leap into the window.
I meant to do that.

Blur of motion, then --
silence, me, a paper bag.
What is so funny?

The mighty hunter
Returns with gifts of plump birds --
your foot just squashed one.

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
sitting on your hands.

My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if I
can just hide my head.

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
What's a 'term paper?'

Small brave carnivores

Thank you, poetic cat, wherever you are. You are the hero of cats everywhere in our quest to be understood by our humans. I hope your human starts waking up in the middle of the night to feed you.

90 Day Update

Well, it's almost been 90 days since I moved into my new house. I've already taken it over. I've started to wake my mom human up at 5:15 every morning. She tries to pretend she's asleep but I won't play her games. When I'm hungry, I'm hungry and I'm not going downstairs alone while it's dark out!

The other week my humans bought me a house with soft sides to play it. It's like a cube with three holes in it with ribbons hanging from the top. That is, until I tumble in it and then suddenly the top is the bottom. It's alot of fun. I hang out in there all the time.

I've been a bit disappointed with Max. I thought he liked playing with me, but lately he seems to just ignore me. It takes so much effort to get him to play with me. I guess I'll just have to show him who's in charge.

First full weekend

So, I just spent my first full weekend at my new house. I gotta say, I'm loving it.

I played with balls that my humans got me from the pet store. I snuggled and cuddled with them and played.

Also, the beagle, Max, finally chilled out. I think we're friends now.

Sometimes he still gets moody and I like to tease him.

TGIF

The moody beagle is nicer again today. That's cool and everything, but it's not that big of a deal for me. Whenever he's crated, I just get more attention from my humans. So it's his loss when he barks at me.

But yeah, the life of luxury continues on. I tried to eat my humans' food, but they wouldn't share. I still steal sips from their cups when they're not looking. And I always sip from the beagle's bowl when I'm downstairs. What - you really think I'm gonna go all the way upstairs just to sip from my water bowl? I don't think so.

White stuff

Some white stuff fell from the sky today. It was like the whole day revolved around it. No one went to school or the office.

Which meant tons of time for laps, naps, purring and playing! I hope that white stuff falls everyday!

The dog didn't handle it too well. He got cranky again. I'm so tired of the whining and barking. I like hanging out in the home office with my parents and the door is closed. At least the whining is muted some and I have cuddle time on their laps.

A new friend?

The beagle was nicer to me today. It's about time. I'm not going to bite. Unless he gets too close.

Life here is great. Eat, sleep, play, poop. It's pretty awesome. I really love sleeping on mom and dad's bed. And then when everyone comes home, I like to hop on their laps and purr as loud as kittily possible.

My humans like to swing the feather toy around, and I like to chase after it. It's a win win for everyone.

Tuesday

Well, it's my third day in the house. And really, that dog is no problem. My humans put him in his crate whenever he barks or chases me. So I have the run of the house now. I think I could get used to that.

OH - I went to my new vet for the first time today. They were really nice. Dr. Goetz gave me a mouse toy. They were really excited to see a bengal, and they should be. We're the best. It was a bit scary being there, and the car ride was brrrrr cold. But now I'm back at home where it's warm.

Day Two

Things are going well so far. Last night I slept on my parent's bed. It was so warm. Plus, it's fun to chase their toes. I finally ate and used my new pink litter box.

Today, Dad worked from home. I tried to venture downstairs, but that dog keeps barking at me. I wonder what his problem is.

I'm really having fun with my new feather toy. I love jumping in the air and doing flips! But now I'm exhausted. Time for a cat nap!

My new family

Hi, my name is Cinnamon and I'm a bengal cat. Today I moved into my new home. I was a little scared at first, but I'm starting to get used to the place.

There's a beagle in a crate downstairs, so I'm staying upstairs. I've been staying mostly in Kayla's room. My humans have shown me my litter box three times. I'm not sure why they keep moving it. At least it's not downstairs anymore where that scary dog is.
